![]() | Mattoon Firefighter, Gary Collinsworth, stands next to Engine 26. This is one of Mattoon's four fire engines. It is a 1987 Pierce Arrow, four passenger cab equipped with a 1250gpm pump. The truck carries a full complement of 5",3" and 2 1/2" supply hose. It also carries (2) 1 1/2"pre-connects and a 2 1/2" pre-connect as well as a pre-piped monitor. This engine is housed at Fire Station #1. |

| This is Engine 23. It is one of Mattoon's newest firetrucks, it was placed into service in July of 1998. It is a Towers fabricated apparatus on a HME chassis. It carries 4 men to the fire ready to attack with (2) pre-connect 1 1/2" and a preconnect 2 1/2". It also has the 55' tower equipped with a remote control 1000gpm fog nozzle and can be used for rescue as well with the AIO ladder package. It also carries a full complement of 5", 3" and 2 1/2" supply line ready to be put into to service. It is housed at Firehouse #1. Incidentally, the new engine being speced right now will be very similar to this one in style and job description. | |

![]() | This is our newest engine. It is a 54' Squrt (c)with an articulating boom. it is a 2000 Pierce Sabre. It has a 1250 pump and a 1000gpm nozzle on the end of the boom. This will be housed at station #1, to better provide aerial protection for our town. |

![]() | Ladder 24 is also kept at Firehouse #1. It is a 100ft Seagrave Aerial we bought new in 1980. In 1998 the ladder unit was replaced and refurbed in Wisconson by Seagrave. This truck carries (2) men to the fire and is used in all our high rise situations. |

| This is Rescue 25. It is housed at staion #1. It is used in most of our EMS and heavy rescue situations. It is a two man truck and is equipped with various rescue tools. They range from a complete American Genesis rescue system of cutters, spreaders, and rams to a full complement of airbags and cribbing to all EMS supplies that we would need at a scene. It is a 3D/Darley made box with roll up doors. The chassis is a 1994 International. At the right is a picture of Keith Orndorff and Lee Diltz at the back doors of the rescue truck showing a couple of the tools it carries. | ||

![]() | This is Engine 22. It is housed at the at our newest station at the Coles County Airport Station #2. It is a 1992 Central States/Darley made box on a 1991 Pemfab chassis. It, like the other engines has a 1250 gpm pump and a full complement of attack and support lines. It also carries an AED and medical supplies to respond as a Rescue/Engine when necessary.
